Minnesota paystub law
Minnesota Statute § 181.032 requires every employer to provide each employee an earnings statement with each pay period. The statement must include the employee's name, hours worked, hourly rate (or salary), gross wages, list of deductions itemized, net wages, employer name and address, and pay period end date. Minnesota's Department of Labor and Industry enforces violations; willful failure to pay wages carries criminal as well as civil penalties. Minnesota also has paid sick and safe time accrual that some employers display on stubs.
The Twin Cities rental market follows mainstream 3× rent verification, with some downtown high-rises requiring stricter standards (3.5× or 40× monthly). Mayo Clinic in Rochester and major healthcare employers in the Twin Cities (Allina, Fairview, HealthPartners) produce institutional paystubs all Minnesota landlords recognize. Food processing employees at major Minnesota employers (Cargill, General Mills, Hormel) have standardized stubs. Retail workers at Target's HQ produce stubs landlords accept readily.
