Alaska paystub law
Alaska Statute 23.10.100 requires every employer to furnish an itemized statement of earnings and deductions for each pay period. The Department of Labor and Workforce Development specifies that the statement show hours, rate, gross, itemized deductions, and net — paper or electronic, as long as the employee can access it without cost. Wage payment intervals are at least semi-monthly. Willful violations of the wage payment statutes carry penalties including liquidated damages on unpaid wages.
Alaska's seasonal industries (Bristol Bay fishing, North Slope oil, summer tourism) produce highly variable paystubs — peak-season stubs alone don't represent annual earnings. Anchorage and Fairbanks landlords frequently ask for tax returns alongside recent stubs to see the annualized picture. The Permanent Fund Dividend doesn't appear on paystubs (it's a state benefit, not employer-paid wages), but most lenders count it for affordability calculations on auto and consumer loans.
